What a lovely treat tonight as I had a chance to address several dozen students at Amsterdam University College. This is a new (three years old) college emphasizing liberal arts and other fields, using a quite different approach to education from the traditional universities here in the Netherlands and much of Europe. There is a focus on diversity, and students are from all over the world. The classes are conducted in English.
I was invited to be the initial speaker in the Career Talk program, a student initiative designed to offer students perspectives on the careers of people in various fields. You can see chair Franziska Golenhofen (second from right) and the other members of organizing committee in this picture. Drawing on the lessons of Goal Play!, we discussed many aspects of leadership and had a fruitful and stimulating conversation that went on well after the formal presentation.
