Many thanks to Jerry Schubel, President and CEO of the Aquarium of the Pacific, for his invitation to present the stories and lessons from Goal Play! at the speaker’s series of the Aquarium.  This series is the largest and most wide-ranging set of such talks in southern California, and I was honored and pleased to be invited to present last night.  We talked about the role of the coach/leader in helping to establish a learning environment in an organization.  Whether a non-profit like the Aquarium or a for-profit organization, you want to create opportunities for front-line staff to call out problems as they see them in the work place, and you want managers and other leaders to be “servant leaders” on behalf of the well-intentioned staff in the organization.

A book-signing followed, assisted by these nice people in the Aquarium’s gift shop.  Thanks to them and the other staff who organized the event, especially Jerry’s assistant Linda Brown.  The entire presentation as well as a short interview of me will be available on the Aquarium’s website in the coming weeks.
